NYDailyNews.com reports that New York Giants safety Kenny Phillips will begin training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list as he recovers from microfracture knee surgery.

Phillips injured his knee during the Giants second game last season.

Coach Tom Coughlin said he will spend the first week of camp doing extended exercises on the sidelines and the team hopes he can be eased back into full practices after that.
